This armchair was designed by Grete Jalk, a Danish furniture designer active in the 1960s.
The chair features beautiful arms with delicate curves that are unique to a female designer, and a smooth and delicate wooden frame. The backrest frame is curved in a gentle S-shape to fit the shape of the spine, and is designed to not put strain on the body.

About Grete Jalk (Denmark, 1920-2006)
Born in Copenhagen, Denmark in 1920.
She was a rare Danish female furniture designer active in the 1960s.
After learning the basics of furniture design at design school, he studied under Kaare Klint and went independent in 1953. His experimental "GJ Chair," influenced by the designs of Aalto and Eames, has a shape in which laminated materials are assembled like origami, and was reproduced by the Danish company LANGE in 2009, but the original is known to be a rare item worldwide.
While undertaking cutting-edge initiatives, he also focused on the multi-functionality required in the living room when designing coffee tables and other items, completing designs that have timeless appeal even today, more than half a century later. In addition to furniture design, he was a versatile designer who was involved in a wide range of activities, including compiling magazines and design history.
