An optimistic and passionate carpenter
It all started when Carl Anderson, a carpenter, started making furniture in 1898. He was an optimistic man, and made furniture using only tools that were not considered professional.
However, optimism and passion are different things.
He continued to create furniture with extraordinary passion and creativity.
His mission from that time on was
"Durable and sustainable manufacturing"
This philosophy is still carried on today.
Father and son bond
With the help of his five sons, his achievements began to attract attention and the company gained recognition as a manufacturer.
KARL ANDERSSON & SÖNER means "Karl Anderson and his sons" in Japanese.
The company has grown into a world-famous furniture manufacturer, launching collaboration furniture series Oresund with the famous Børge Mogensen.
Now, more than 100 years later
Their philosophy has been passed down ever since.
From the 1980s to around 2001, he also held workshops for aspiring furniture makers in developing countries.
As of 2018, our existing furniture factory in Sweden is now run entirely on renewable energy.
Now, more than 100 years later,
Not bound by past technology, but suited to the new era
"Durable and sustainable manufacturing"
This is continuing.
I want to pass it on to the next generation.
The passion and furniture that he left behind as a single carpenter will surely continue to be loved for generations to come.
At least for us who are in the process of that era,
I was immersed in his passion and was fascinated by it.
We want to pass this on to the next generation.
The best vintage furniture will inspire that feeling.
