Hand-painted. One of the largest decorative vases in Japan. Landscape painting is a style of painting that originated in China, depicting a fantasy world of mountains, rivers, people, and houses.
It is said that the majority of Japanese patterns come from picture books published by woodblock printing in the Edo and Naniwa regions around the time of the Kanbun, Genroku, and Kyoho eras of the Edo period.
The patterns were chosen from Ehon Tsuhoshi, Oshie Tekagami, Ehon Seigacho, Ehon Yamanosou and other sources, and were created in a way that harmonized with the shapes of the jars and plates.
