Hand-painted. One of the largest decorative vases in Japan. Beautiful women paintings were originally a popular pattern during the Edo period.
Somenishiki is a type of porcelain that is painted directly onto bisque clay and then glazed and fired (sometsuke), and is then painted on top of that. Because the painting is done on top of the glaze, it is also called overglaze painting. Other names for Nishiki include akae and iroe. It is a very luxurious piece that is made vivid with vibrant colors by going through the kiln at least 4-5 times during the production process.
This is a piece that can make a statement not only in your home, but also in a variety of places such as stores and offices.
