Brand name: FRITZ HANSEN Series name: Grand Prix Table Grand Prix Chair Designer name: Arne Jacobsen

Arne Jacobsen is an architect and designer whose work continues to fascinate people throughout the ages.
The Grand Prix table and chair are manufactured by FRITZ HANSEN, a long-established Danish furniture manufacturer founded in 1872. In the early 1920s, Fritz Hansen established a technique for bending wood using steam processing, which allows for the creation of lightweight and durable furniture. The shell is made of nine thin laminated plywood sheets, which are layered vertically and horizontally, and then pressurized and heated in a 3D press machine to form a three-dimensional shape. The Grand Prix chair, a masterpiece designed by Jacobsen, was exhibited at the Milan Triennale in 1957 and won the Grand Prix, the highest award at the exhibition, which is where its name comes from. Jacobsen also designed a table in parallel with the chair, but this was only sold for a short period of time due to production issues and was not produced after that. Fritz Hansen has reproduced the legendary masterpiece Grand Prix table since 2017 after 60 years, but this is a vintage item from that time, with a circular shape and probably only one in Japan.

As this is a vintage item, there may be scratches, dents, and stains, but we ask that you understand that this is the charm of vintage items and enjoy them. If necessary, we may contact you and send you photos of the affected areas before shipping. Also, due to the nature of the wood, wooden vintage products may expand, contract, warp, or crack due to drying and aging. Thank you for your understanding.
