Simple design dining chair
The chair has an excellent design, including a generous curve in the back legs. The chair has a rounded shape overall, and the curves of the top rail are particularly beautiful. The top rail is made by carving out a luxurious piece of solid wood.
The method of carving out solid wood has a low yield rate and is no longer in production, making this an extremely valuable piece with only vintage items remaining.

Hans.J. Wegner (Denmark, 1914-2007) / About Hans J. Wegner Wegner was born in 1914 in Tønder, a town on the border between Denmark and Germany, to a shoemaker. He studied furniture under furniture maker HF Stalberg and qualified as a furniture maker at the age of 17. Three years later, he moved to Copenhagen, where he attended the School of Crafts from 1936 to 1938, and then began his career as a designer. In 1940, Wegner is known for participating in the architectural project for the Aarhus City Hall, which was in charge of Arne Jacobsen and Erik Müller, and designing the furniture to be installed there. It was also in this year that he began collaborating with Johannes Hansen, a furniture workshop that made a major contribution to the Danish design world.

Wegner, one of the most creative and original designers in the Danish design world, is known as a master of chairs and has designed over 500 chairs, many of which are now considered masterpieces and highly acclaimed internationally.
Wegner was often asked by people outside of Denmark, "How did you create that unique style known as Danish Modern?" to which he replied, "I think it was created through a process of making the design purer. For me, it's the process of making it simpler. It's about stripping away all unnecessary elements to the bare minimum, like four legs, a seat, a back, arms, and the frame that connects them." He pursued simple beauty and functionality, revealing the core of the furniture, the essence of the furniture. This can be said to be the greatest achievement that Wegner left to future generations.

As these are vintage products, there may be scratches, marks, and stains, but we ask that you understand that this is the charm of vintage items and enjoy them. If necessary, we may contact you and send you a photo of the affected area before shipping. Also, due to the nature of the wood, wooden vintage products may expand, contract, warp, or crack due to drying and aging. Thank you for your understanding.
