moooi is a Dutch interior brand founded in 2001 by Marcel Wanders and Casper Vissas. The name was chosen by adding an extra "o" to the Dutch word mooi (meaning beautiful), to express the aim of creating designs with even more beauty and originality. Few people realize the secret hidden behind the sophisticated form of the Meshmatics chandelier. Designer Rick Tegler succeeded in maximizing its potential by developing a mechanism for shaping this thin and soft wire mesh. The delicate wire mesh is carefully stretched to different sizes and tailored into three layers. At the point where the three layers are integrated, there is an upward-emitting LED light source that diffuses the light it emits emotionally to illuminate the surroundings. The three layers of wire mesh that form the form and create beautiful diffused light actually play a role in cooling the heat emitted by the LEDs.
